Hello ambigram friends! I wanted to let you know about an opportunity to stretch your creative muscles, engage with the larger ambigram community, and get the chance for worldwide influence and recognition!
Yes, friends, I'm talking about the amazing, the extraordinary, the absolutely CANNOT BE MISSED biweekly ambigram competition in our Discord Server!
For those of you unaware, we have numerous fun activities going on in our discord server, the highlight of which (in my personal and probably biased, but nevertheless enthusiastic, opinion) is the biweekly ambigram contest. It provides inspiration to get our artistic juices flowing, and it gives us the opportunity to hone our creative talents and try out some artistic skills that we may want to become more familiar with or that we saw on that one Instagram reel while doomscrolling and said to ourselves "hey, I should try that out."
Now, what sets this contest apart from the other ambigram contests out there? Well, for one, I would encourage everyone to enter ALL of the ambigram contests available to us. The more ambigrams we create, the more pieces we perfect and turn into beautiful works of art that everyone, even people who may not seek out ambigrams or know what they are, can appreciate, the better it is for the entire ambigram community. More visibility on our talents is always a good thing!
Of the three main contests that happen regularly (those over at ambigr.am and in the Glyphs & Alphabets discord server are the other two), ours falls right in the middle, lengthwise. Ours kick off every two weeks, starting on Fridays so we'll have that lovely stretch of weekend to dive into creating something beautiful. Our contest only allows one entry per applicant, so that gives us the opportunity to devote ourselves entirely to one piece instead of jumping back and forth between ideas. (Who am I kidding, I jump back and forth on ideas ALL THE TIME, but I shouldn't!)
Just last Friday, our latest contest kicked off - and the theme of this contest is PLANT LIFE. We like to keep the contests broad enough that our contestants have a wide range of subjects to choose from, while also giving enough direction that they will be easily inspired. So, what's your favorite flower? Is there a particular succulent you think always brightens up a space? What about the amazingly medicinal plants that are hidden away in the rainforests? This is the perfect opportunity to immortalize an excellent plant in ambigram form!
